Fun concerts & Summer JAM • 12 February 2015

Congratulations to all of the efforts of the 7/8 Band & Orchestra students for a fabulous evening performance and day-time rehearsal on Tuesday at Southwest HS.
LHCS 7/8 Concert Band & Strings @ SWHS 2-10-15
We had a tremendously successful day at the High School that included a rehearsal in the concert hall, a performance from Southwest's Wind Ensemble including a cool new piece in 7/8 + 4/4 time - LHCS students were challenged to guess the time signature; they collectively figured it out. We also had pizza with some of the High Schoolers, got some SWHS swag and learned tons about being in HS at SW!
It was a "character builder" trip through the snow for the rehearsal made much easier by the efforts of Lucy Archie and Rob Lieving. A huge Lake Harriet thank you for carting our instruments to and fro.

Upon returning the LHCS, the Jazz Band opened up the Black History Month Celebration with a bang. What an incredible event it turned out to be. Bravo to all of the performers.
